The Complex Disease Lawyer will handle own caseload of mixed diseases & complex cases within our Legacy department to manage and progress claims in accordance with appropriate strategies to secure desired outcomes at appropriate levels of profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall conduct of allocated matters fixing strategy and liaising directly with clients.
- Responsibility for Assistants & their development.
- Ensure adherence with court timetables by taking relevant actions/delegation of tasks as appropriate.
- Ensuring experts are instructed in sufficient time by taking relevant actions/delegation of tasks as appropriate.
- Attending conferences with Counsel and clients.
- Dealing with routine correspondence.
- Compliance with MI to ensure compliance with the SRA Standards & Regulations.
- Adhere to the Keoghs Values.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Technically proficient in dealing with a mixed disease caseload including long tail disease and short tail disease.
- Experience of dealing with the Claims Portal as well as Fast, Intermediate and Multi Track litigation including cases in the High Court.
- Effective negotiator.
- Ability to use own initiative.
- Good listening and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organise, delegate & prioritise.
- Good level of IT skills.
