Overview

In this Claimant role, you will handle household and commercial property recovery matters for insurers, across a national remit from Bristol with hybrid working.

You’ll work within the Recoveries specialism to drive claims to resolution, balancing technical legal work with client liaison.

The position combines litigation execution, advisory support, and opportunities to train and develop insurer clients.

You will contribute to delivering high-quality legal solutions on complex recoveries in a dynamic, client-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Initial review and reporting on funding prospects and triage
  • Investigating evidential matters and gathering evidence to establish cause of action
  • Conducting investigations with third parties and instructing counsel/experts
  • Legal research and drafting of claims, forms, and particulars for issue
  • Attending conferences and trials with counsel and managing routine correspondence
  • Liaising with lay and insurer clients; engaging in settlement negotiations and drafting Part 36 offers
  • Preparing pre-action and interim applications; driving the litigation process to conclusion
  • Assisting with ADR (including mediation) and court appointments
  • Conducting advocacy by telephone and in person
  • Ensuring compliance with the SRA Standards & Regulations
  • Key requirements
  • Qualified solicitor or equivalent with relevant technical capability
  • 0–3 years Claimant or Defendant property litigation experience
  • Experience of running a caseload
  • Working knowledge of Household and Commercial recoveries
  • Ability to prioritise workload
  • Attention to detail
  • Proficiency with case management systems
  • Property litigation experience
  • Knowledge of recoveries in Household and Commercial sectors
  • Advocacy and negotiation
