The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.
To pursue settlement of a case load of pre-litigation credit hires file in accordance with agreed cycle times and spend targets, ensuring Client Guidelines are adhered to. It is important that the job holder can quickly review files and formulate an initial Strategy, commence early telephone negotiations with Credit Hire Organisations and Third Party Solicitors and liaise with Insurers where necessary. This role will suit not only experienced Paralegals, but individuals who have experience in the Credit Hire sphere, to include in Insurance Companies. The cases you will work on will be varied and exciting, with opportunities to develop into specialisms of particular interest to you, as we play to the strengths of each team member.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing pre proceedings files, noting and abiding by Client Guidelines.
- Formulating, implementing and updating strategies as necessary.
- Delivering market leading indemnity spend and strong results for clients.
- Robust negotiations with Credit Hire Organisations and Third party Solicitors.
- Using current legal doctrine and case law strategies to expedite settlement.
- Assisting Fee Earners on litigated matters.
- Where appropriate building strong working relationships with insurer clients.
- Proactive handling of cases to avoid complaints or other issues.
- Ensuring tasks are carried out as per Schedule in Case Management System.
- Ensuring files are kept within ISO 9001 guidelines.
- To ensure compliance with the LSNI Regulations.
Working Hours
35 hours per week. Standard working hours are Monday – Friday 9.00 am – 5.00 pm with 1 unpaid hour for lunch. Hybrid and flexible working is available.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Some experience of handling Pre-litigated claims is essential.
- Specific experience of handling Pre-Litigated Credit Hire Claims is highly desirable.
- Educated to A Level standard or equivalent, with a degree being desirable.
- Ability to use own initiative.
- Ability to plan and prioritise workloads, keep to deadlines and work under pressure.
- Excellent listening and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Good telephone negotiation skills.
- Ability to follow work processes and keep to Strategy.
- Ability to recognise when sensitivity and tact are required.
- Ability to make decisions and remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to effectively work within a team.
- Confidence to take initiative to innovate and adapt to changing situations.

- Good IT skills including Word, Outlook, and experience of a Case Management System preferred.
