Davies is partnering with a leading Scientific Research and Consultancy firm who are looking for a Compliance Manager to join them on a 14 month FTC. The successful candidate will bring proven expertise in regulatory compliance, data protection, and risk management, while championing a culture of integrity and continuous improvement. You will play a key role in ensuring the organisation meets all regulatory, contractual, and industry obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement compliance programs with a strong focus on Data Protection.
- Collaborate with IT security consultants, the Data Protection Officer, and external service providers to manage audits, due diligence requests, and certifications (ISO27001, Cyber Essentials).
- Act as the internal expert on data management, advising on personal data processes including informed consent forms.
- Document and streamline business processes, creating clear roadmaps for compliance.
- Drive process improvements to enhance organisational efficiency.
- Ensure staff adhere to data protection and information security requirements.
- Conduct internal audits, track risks, and oversee remediation.
- Lead compliance training initiatives across the team.
- Manage supplier onboarding, due diligence, and annual compliance checks.
- Perform monthly and quarterly compliance reviews.
- Maintain and update company policies and procedures.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, ensuring the organisation adapts to evolving regulations.
About You
- Strong knowledge of data protection laws and regulations, including GDPR globally.
- Experience of managing an ISMS and have led a small or medium sized business through ISO27001 accreditation.
- Knowledge of GCP (Good Clinical Practice) Certification.
- Proven ability to design and manage compliance programs.
- Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
- Commercially aware with strong business acumen.
- Confident IT user, proficient in MS Office and other platforms.
- Methodical, logical, and process-driven in approach.
