An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and client-focused Financial Planner to join a high-performing and collaborative team environment. This role is suited to an individual who is motivated, commercially minded, and committed to delivering high-quality financial advice. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting clients to achieve their long-term financial objectives, providing clear, strategic guidance across a range of financial planning needs.

Based in Plymouth, you will be responsible for managing and developing client relationships across the South West region. You will deliver holistic financial planning advice, supporting clients through key financial decisions and life events, and helping them maximise their financial position over the long term. You will inherit an existing client portfolio, with the opportunity to grow your client base through strong service delivery and relationship management. The role operates within a collaborative team structure, where individual contribution is recognised and valued.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored, holistic financial planning advice aligned to individual client objectives
  • Translate complex financial information into clear, actionable strategies
  • Build and maintain strong, trusted client relationships
  • Conduct regular client reviews in line with agreed service levels, ensuring recommendations remain appropriate and effective
  • Proactively identify client needs and provide forward-looking, solutions-based advice
  • Develop a strong understanding of the firm’s financial planning proposition and communicate this effectively to clients
  • Maintain accurate and compliant client records using internal systems and CRM tools
  • Undertake ongoing professional development to meet regulatory requirements and support continued career growth
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance client outcomes and overall service delivery

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Financial Planning role
  • Diploma qualified in Financial Planning (Level 4 or equivalent)
  • Holds a current Statement of Professional Standing (SPS)
  • Experience using CRM systems and cashflow modelling software
  • Demonstrable track record of building and maintaining long-term client relationships
  • Strong belief in holistic, client-centric financial planning
  • Commercially aware, with the ability to convert opportunities into lasting client relationships
  • Proactive, solution-oriented approach with accountability for outcomes
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to contribute to a high-performing team culture
