Finance Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Operations Manager to support and develop our Finance, Payments, and Tax function within our clients dynamic Pension Servicing business. This is a pivotal role that will play a crucial part in ensuring the financial health and operational efficiency of our clients organization.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be supporting the establishing, managing, and optimizing all aspects of our clients financial operations, including financial control, cash management, payment processing, and tax reporting. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, to ensure accurate and timely financial information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team: Work with the head of finance to support a team of 18 FTE across the UK and India, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
  • Enhance financial controls: Implement and maintain robust financial controls, drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize reconciliation processes, reduce costs, and mitigate financial risks.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting: Oversee month-end close processes, prepare and deliver financial reports (including management information and dashboards) for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients, fostering collaboration and trust.
  • Manage audits and regulatory inquiries: Support internal and external audits and regulatory inquiries.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA or CIMA)
  • 5+ years of experience in the Financial Services sector (Pensions experience preferred)
  • Proven experience in managing and developing high-performing finance teams
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and drive change
  • A proactive and results-oriented approach with a focus on continuous improvement

Desirable:

  • Experience working with HMRC Tax Reporting
  • In-depth knowledge of general ledger accounting principles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
