We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Claims Handler to join our Corporate Risk team. In this role, you’ll take ownership of a varied caseload of Public Liability, Employers’ Liability, Property Damage, and Product Liability claims—handling each case from first notification through to settlement. With claim values up to £20,000, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your expertise in pre-litigation claims while delivering excellent outcomes for clients and claimants alike. You’ll play a key role in balancing technical accuracy, commercial awareness, and customer service.

Key Accountabilities

  • Managing a diverse caseload of liability and property damage claims from inception to settlement
  • Proactively progressing claims to achieve timely and cost-effective resolutions
  • Handling negotiations with claimants, solicitors, and third parties
  • Ensuring compliance with client SLAs and internal quality standards
  • Maintaining accurate, up-to-date records on the case management system
  • Delivering a high standard of client care and communication throughout the claims journey
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues while confidently managing your own workload
  • Supporting the Team Leader with additional tasks and contributing to team success

Experience, Skills and Qualifications

  • At least 12 months’ relevant claims experience, or 6 months’ experience plus a law degree (or equivalent)
  • Working knowledge of the MOJ Claims Portal
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to assess risk effectively
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines
  • A proactive and self‑motivated approach to workload management
  • A team player who can also work independently with confidence
