We are seeking two experienced and dependable Mobile Crane Fitters to join our workshop team â one based in the Cardiff area and one in the Carmarthen area. You will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of mobile cranes and lifting equipment across various customer sites and our depots. The role is fieldâbased and requires a strong mechanical aptitude, good diagnostic skills, and a commitment to safe working practices. This is an excellent opportunity for a technician with mobile crane, plant, HGV or heavy machinery experience who wants a varied and rewarding role within a growing business.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing, inspections and maintenance on mobile cranes & HGV fleet.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults onâsite and in the workshop.
- Complete breakdown repairs and respond to urgent callâouts when required.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate service records, job sheets and compliance documentation.
- Provide excellent customer service while working on client sites.
- Support the workshop team with workshop repairs when not fieldâbased.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Crane Fitter, Plant Fitter, HGV Technician, or Heavy Equipment Engineer.
- Strong understanding of hydraulics, electrics and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams and schematics.
- Full UK driving licence (HGV Class 1 or 2 beneficial but not essential).
- LOLER/PUWER awareness or experience working in a safetyâcritical environment.
- Ability to work independently, manage your own workload and solve problems on the job.
- Strong commitment to safe working practices.
