Special Investigator Department: Client Management Employment Type: Permanent – Full Time Location: Home United Kingdom Reporting To: Paul Twinn
Description: Amazing new opportunity with interesting work within Insurance claims investigation. Job purpose: Manage a portfolio of investigation cases from various instructing Clients (covering Domestic and Commercial Property, Motor, Casualty and Niche Products). Working in partnership with the instructing Client, the investigator will undertake thorough and focused enquiries, report upon the outcome of the investigation and make informed and evidence-based recommendations on policy response. Cases where fraud is established may involve liaising with police to secure a prosecution.
Responsibilities
- Undertake a range of investigations in an ethical & professional manner, employing best practice & key investigative competencies, including technical knowledge, investigative planning & preparation, interviewing & statement taking, evidence collection, identification, gathering, analysis & presentation, reporting & correspondence.
- Proficiency in investigating and validating claims within the agreed structured process of DSI, working in tandem with other areas of The Davies Group.
- Support & assist in the development of DSI staff (e.g. Investigators, Conversation Management Handlers).
- Adhere to client-specific service standards and ensure investigations are conducted within the Company’s guidelines, procedures & protocols.
- Establish and maintain contacts with external investigative bodies and agencies, as approved by DSI management.
- Be accountable for achieving Key Performance Indicators, as determined by DSI management.
- Ensure technical and professional development progress is in accordance with agreed Personal Development Plans (PDP).
- Promote & maintain the profile of DSI within the Company and throughout the marketplace generally.
- Perform any other appropriate duties, as & when reasonably requested by DSI Management.
- All staff are expected to carry out any reasonable instruction given by their Senior Manager, in line with business requirements.
Knowledge and Abilities
- Previous investigative experience essential; an investigatory qualification would be advantageous.
- Advanced insurance industry knowledge essential.
- First class communication skills.
- A high level of self-motivation and personal accountability.
- Demonstrate a structured approach and effective time management skills.
- Ability to work with the minimum of supervision.
- High levels of IT literacy, proficiency with Excel and Word.
- Working knowledge of civil & statutory law within investigations.
- Working knowledge of evaluating and handling intelligence; capable of handling sensitive and confidential material.
- Willing to commit to professional study.
- High ethical and professional standards.
- Clean UK driving licence.
