Job Description

Conveyancing (Plot Sales) Fee EarnerDavies and Partners Solicitors is a well-established law firm with over 30 years’ experience. It has a national reputation for excellence in the Property sector and strength in depth in a wide selection of other legal services for businesses & individuals. There are 5 offices in Gloucester, Bristol, Birmingham, London and Devon. Davies and Partners Solicitors strongly believe that their staff are the heart of the company and are therefore driven to ensure that all employees experience and maintain a good work-life balance. This role has arisen due to the retirement of a team member who is retiring after 30 years within the team.Job PurposeTo be responsible for all aspects of Residential Development sales on behalf of commercial developer clients including the day to day running of sale files, part exchanges and site set ups with appropriate training. The firm boasts regional and national heavyweight clients including FTSE100 listed companies and various 5-star HBF rated builders ensuring top quality, interesting work in a friendly and supportive environment with high retention rates within the department. The role will be based within the Gloucester office together with around 20 other specialist staff. Training will be provided and therefore whilst property knowledge is required (whether Commercial or Residential) previous experience of residential development is not required.Key Duties and Responsibilities• Handling site set-up of new development sites following any necessary training• Handling of road, sewer, infrastructure and services agreements and transfers, leases or grants of easement to statutory authorities• Drafting of contracts, transfers and leases for plot sales• Drafting of contracts and transfers in relation to part-exchange and resale transactions• Responding to enquiries raised by buyers legal representatives• Reporting to clients on part-exchange properties • Handling of Exchange and Completion of sales and purchases• Overseeing completion and submission of SDLT returns and registrations• Achieving legitimate billing in line with figures agreed by the Head of Department• The day-to day supervision of any others working directly for you• All other legal matters in relation to a development site following its acquisition Person SpecificationEducation/ Qualifications • Solicitor (SRA) or FCILEx qualified Skills/Knowledge • Ability to maintain and build upon existing client relationships• Self-organised and proactive• Ability to take responsibility and solve problems• Attention to detail• Ability to maintain client confidentiality• Adaptable to the needs of the business as changes occur during the operational requirements • Competent in the effective use of Information and Communications Technologies (lCT).• The ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, and work under pressure• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
