This role reports to the Head of the Corporate and Commercial Department.

The role would suit a commercially minded individual with good communication skills who enjoys business development and will bring energy and enthusiasm to the role. Under the guidance of more experienced members of the department, the successful applicant should be able to work independently on a mixed case load of commercial matters for a wide variety of clients. The applicant must be able to demonstrate their ability in dealing with complex matters, have good solid academics and be able to work effectively as part of a team. The range of work will include joint venture projects, data protection, terms and conditions and commercial agreements including brand protection, intellectual property licences, agency and distribution agreements as well as some assistance with corporate transactions.

The successful candidate will either be based in the Bristol office or the Gloucester office.

Essential Criteria

  • Legal Status: Appropriate DBS disclosure will be required prior to confirmation of appointment.
  • Right to live and work in the UK, e.g. valid UK or EU passport or appropriate visa/work permits.
  • Education/Qualifications: Qualified Commercial Solicitor registered with the SRA.
  • Skills/Knowledge: 4 years+ PQE in non-contentious commercial work, some corporate transactional experience, strong communication skills, good organisational, time management and IT skills, self-motivated, flexible and with a willing attitude, excellent attention to detail, professional attitude with excellent client care skills.
