Pharmacy Assistants work both at the healthcare counter and within the dispensary, supporting other team members under the guidance of the Pharmacist. They help ensure the safe, accurate, and timely supply of prescribed medications to patients. Pharmacy Assistants also offer advice on common illnesses and minor ailments, recommend over-the-counter treatments where suitable, and provide lifestyle guidance to promote healthier living. This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment where you’ll interact with a diverse group of individuals and play an essential role as part of the pharmacy and local healthcare team.
Who Are We Looking For?
This is a predominantly front-of-house role, providing a welcoming and professional first point of contact for our patients. The successful candidate will be confident communicating with people and delivering excellent customer service, and supporting patients with their enquiries in a caring, efficient, and compassionate manner. Strong interpersonal skills, a friendly approach, and the ability to build positive relationships with patients are essential.
If you’re new to community pharmacy, we’ll support you in completing your NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Healthcare Assistant qualification. Once qualified, you’ll have clear pathways for career progression, potentially moving into enhanced roles in the dispensing process or stepping into supervisory positions.
