About The Role
Due to growth within the team, a vacancy has arisen for a
Compliance Manager . The role will be covering Hygiene, GMP and Factory Floor Standards.
The successful candidate must have outstanding communication skills and have experience of leading and developing teams as well as having a minimum of 2 years’ experience.
Shifts
Monday to Friday, 9 hours per day. Times to be discussed at interview.
Responsibilities & Requirements
Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage and maintain the site’s Food Safety & Quality Management System (QMS).
- Ensure ongoing compliance with BRCGS requirements, customer standards, and relevant food legislation.
- Lead and coordinate internal, external, customer, and certification audits.
- Maintain compliance documentation, policies, procedures, and records.
- Investigate non-conformances, complaints, and audit findings, ensuring effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Review, update, and verify HACCP documentation, risk assessments, and prerequisite programmes.
- Oversee the Hygiene Department, ensuring cleaning standards, schedules, verification, and hygiene compliance are effectively managed.
- Monitor GMP standards across the site and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct internal audits and verify the implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Support site readiness for customer visits, third-party audits, and regulatory inspections.
- Monitor compliance KPIs and report performance trends to the site management team.
- Deliver compliance and food safety training to site personnel where required.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering, Hygiene, and Warehouse teams to ensure compliance across all operations.
- Support validation, verification, environmental monitoring, allergen management, and traceability activities.
- Promote a positive Food Safety and Quality Culture throughout the site.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and support the implementation of best practices.
- Reviewing and implementing customer codes of practice and making sure they are all compliant with all hygiene standards.
- Implement business improvements ensuring that food safety and quality remain at the forefront of the company.
- Ensuring hygiene operatives across day and night shifts are appropriately trained, organised and managed to complete required workload.
- Managing and developing scheduled deep and standard cleaning of machinery/ environment program to required standards.
- Working towards KPI’s and targets, ensuring all clean downs are done to the highest standard.
- Carrying out regular audits in relation to hygiene systems and environmental standards.
- Liaising with production management to minimise risk to product through effective hygiene management and process control.
- Improving efficiency and standards of cleaning.
- Ownership and development of hygiene systems.
Experience / Education Required
- Experience within a food manufacturing environment.
- Good understanding of BRCGS requirements and Quality Management Systems.
- Experience supporting or leading food safety and compliance activities.
- Understanding of hygiene management and GMP standards.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a Science-related discipline
