David Wood Foods is a food manufacturing organisation with a site based in Workington. We have over 20 years experience in the food business, and currently produce a range of quality products for the retail and foodservice industry from seven high-tech factories. Product development is our heartbeat and we work closely with our customers to develop products that combine specific requirements and imaginative flair. Working with key partners, we have already developed a number of new exciting and award-winning products that continue to attract and delight consumers.

We are looking for Production/Packing Operatives to join our fast-growing team and business based in Workington, Cumbria. Your main tasks will be to ensure products are produced and packed in an efficient and timely manner to the highest possible quality standards working to our customer specifications.

Responsibilities & Requirements
  • Prepare and pack our fantastic bakery products against customer orders
  • Assist in the smooth running of the bakery by contributing your energy to a variety of tasks within the bakery
  • Help us to ensure that you and your colleagues are working in a safe and hygienic workplace
  • Complete paperwork ensuring a high level of accuracy
  • Ensure all products are packed efficiently, correctly labelled in accordance with the packing specification
  • Report any Out of Spec Products/Machinery issues/Non-Conformances to team leader/supervisor promptly
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and co-workers
  • Follow and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
  • Must have good organisational and time-keeping skills

The role will suit candidates who have worked for a small or medium company and are willing to work in a hands-on varied role; previous Food Industry experience is desirable but not essential.
