David Wood Foods is a leading food manufacturing company with over 20 years' experience in the bakery business. We currently produce a range of quality frozen 'bake off' and craft bakery products encompassing savoury pastry, sweet pastry, bread, morning goods and confectionery products from seven cutting-edge bakeries around the UK.
About the role:
We are looking for experienced engineers in all fields: Mechanical / Electrical / Multi skilled / Welding/ Fabricating & Machining for our bread plant based in Workington, primarily to support the running of the factory delivering routine maintenance and reacting to breakdowns.
Key responsibilities:
- Role is hands on - you will be expected to follow and complete planned maintenance of all plant machinery on the site.
- To have a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues on the plant to increase reliability and efficiency of the equipment.
- To have the ability to react swiftly when a breakdown occurs, identifying and repairing the fault in a timely manner.
- To communicate effectively with the wider site teams on issues affecting production.
- To ensure compliance with all statutory requirements including but not limited to health and safety, making sure that all documentation relating to any plant or machinery is up to date.
- To always work safely, following the correct policies and procedures, as set out by the company, keeping yourself up to date with best practice.
Key skills / Qualifications:
- Engineering BTEC / NVQ-L3 Engineering Diploma L3 City & Guilds L3 diploma
Key Experience:
- Experience of using a CMMS system, recording planned and reactive maintenance.
- Experience of working within FMCG or manufacturing environment would be an advantage.
- Basic PLC knowledge would be an advantage but not essential.
Self-motivated team player with the ability to solve problems effectively.
