About the Role
We are seeking a professional, approachable and organised People Advisor to join our team and provide first-line HR support to managers and colleagues within a fast-paced operational environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR Assistant, People Coordinator, Junior HR Advisor or similar HR professional looking to develop their career while playing an important role in supporting colleagues and operational leaders.
You will provide practical and accurate advice on day-to-day people matters, support managers with employee relations processes and ensure HR administration and records are maintained to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate first-line advice to managers and colleagues on people policies, procedures and day-to-day HR queries.
- Support managers and colleagues with attendance, conduct, performance, probation, well being and employee relations matters.
- Assist with employee relations processes, ensuring matters are handled fairly, consistently and confidentially.
- Prepare meeting documentation, take accurate notes and ensure agreed actions are followed up.
- Maintain accurate, confidential and audit-ready employee and people records.
- Support the on boarding and induction of new colleagues.
- Assist with colleague communications, engagement activities and site-based people initiatives.
- Work closely with operational leaders to provide practical people support.
- Identify and appropriately escalate complex, sensitive or higher-risk HR matters.
- Support compliance with company policies, procedures and relevant HR processes.
- Provide a professional and approachable point of contact for colleagues and managers.
- Manage employee changes, including promotions, salary changes, transfers and changes to working arrangements.
- Liaise with payroll to ensure employee changes, overtime, bonuses, deductions and absences are processed accurately.
- Support payroll processes and respond to employee payroll queries where required.
About You
We are looking for someone who is organised, professional and confident dealing with people at all levels.
You will ideally have
- Previous experience in an HR Assistant, People Coordinator, Junior HR Advisor or similar role.
- Good knowledge of HR administration, employee relations processes and people policies.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
- The ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Confidence working in a fast-paced, operational environment.
- The ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues and managers.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- A proactive and practical approach to resolving day-to-day people queries.
Desirable Experience
The following would be advantageous
- Experience working within food manufacturing, FMCG, logistics, warehousing or another operational environment.
- Experience supporting onboarding and induction within a site-based environment.
- Experience with colleague communications and engagement activities.
- Experience supporting compliance-related HR activity.
- CIPD Level 3 qualification, or currently working towards a relevant HR qualification.
