David Williams-Ellis is seeking a proactive and reliable Studio Assistant to aid in the day-to-day running of his Oxfordshire Studio and ongoing projects. The main responsibility of the Studio Assistant will be to provide support to DWE in both practical and administrative tasks, whilst monitoring and overseeing all ongoing projects.

The role undertakes responsibilities from practical tasks, like the making and welding of armatures for sculptures, mouldmaking, and partaking in studio maintenance, to administrative elements, such as monitoring all Studio communications and enquiries, keeping excellent archive records, and updating DWE’s various social media platforms.

This is a varied role, requiring proactiveness, enthusiasm, and adaptability - ideal for someone able to pick up tasks quickly, and demonstrating experience coordinating different priorities. A typical working week will be around 40 hours, though this may vary depending on ongoing projects. Assistance with relocation to Oxfordshire can be provided if required.

Required:
  • Valid driving license
  • Experience working across both practical and administrative tasks
  • Competence with full Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to take instruction, prioritise effectively, and work to a deadline while maintaining excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to problem-solve on the go, work under pressure, and approach tasks with plenty of initiative, engagement, and proactiveness
  • Personable, with a flexible attitude, able to adapt to a varied working environment and confident balancing multiple tasks concurrently
Desired:
  • Experience working within a Workshop/Studio environment
  • An artistic eye for detail and form
  • Experience in TIG welding, mouldmaking and sculpture modelling
  • Some knowledge of social media platforms and website maintenance
  • Basic photography and documentation skills
