Skegness Grammar School is recruiting for a part‑time Teaching Assistant on a fixed‑term contract from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2027. The role supports the overall progress and development of our students and facilitates a rich curriculum.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring that students have the materials they need to carry out set tasks.
- Maintaining a positive working atmosphere to ensure productivity.
- Dealing with immediate problems or emergencies in accordance with school policies and procedures.
- Following school systems for achievement and behaviour issues related to lessons and recording electronically using the student management system.
- Collecting completed work after lessons and returning it to the teacher, if required.
- Assisting teaching staff in arranging classroom displays and materials.
- Assisting with classroom administration and accurate recording of data on the student management system.
- Attending relevant INSET staff training sessions and other ad‑hoc meetings.
Qualifications
- GCSE or equivalent in Maths, English or equivalent level of competency.
- Experience working with children of the relevant age group.
- Experience working effectively in an educational environment.
- Ability to work as part of a team or independently on own initiative.
- ICT skills sufficient to manage the student management system.
Contract & Benefits
- Fixed‑term contract from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2027.
- 30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (38 weeks term time plus 5 training days).
- Salary: £24,976 FTE per annum (£17,659.68 pro rata).
