We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated teacher to join our supportive team to inspire pupils to achieve their best. The Class Teacher role is part‑time, 2 days per week, with actual days discussed during interview. It is a fixed‑term position for the 2026/27 academic year.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and inspiring lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
- Plan and prepare high‑quality teaching materials and learning opportunities.
- Build on pupils' prior knowledge and abilities to support strong progress and achievement.
- Support every child to succeed, including pupils with SEND, EAL, disabilities, and those who are gifted and talented.
- Use effective teaching approaches, including early reading strategies such as Read Write Inc where appropriate.
- Promote excellent standards of literacy and communication across the curriculum.
- Use assessment and feedback effectively to celebrate progress and help pupils grow in confidence.
- Provide meaningful feedback and encourage pupils to reflect on and improve their learning.
- Use assessment information to guide planning and set achievable targets.
- Set purposeful homework and enrichment activities to extend learning beyond the classroom.
- Create a positive and well‑managed classroom environment in line with school policies.
- Create a safe, caring, and stimulating environment where every child feels valued and respected.
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, learning, and personal development.
- Support pupils' wellbeing and encourage positive relationships throughout the school.
- Carry out supervisory duties as required.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of all children and young people, following safeguarding procedures at all times.
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Honours degree related to Primary Education or a curriculum subject – desirable.
- Evidence of sustained participation in INSET/CPD.
- Demonstrable evidence of high standards of class teaching.
- Understanding of effective assessment and target setting procedures.
- Well‑motivated, enthusiastic with a can‑do attitude.
