Role Description The Chaperone is a Part-time/Pro-rata on-site role based at Scayne's Hill clinic.
This position involves being present during patient appointments to provide comfort, reassurance, and an additional layer of safety, particularly during physiotherapy examinations and treatments.
This role involves welcoming patients, explaining the chaperone's role, maintaining patient dignity and privacy, and facilitating clear communication between clinicians and patients.
The Chaperone will observe, record (when necessary), and report any concerns to the appropriate clinician or manager.
The role also involves adhering to clinic policies, maintaining accurate basic records when required, and contributing to high standard of a professional, inclusive, and respectful patient experience.
Qualifications
- Ability to demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and a calm, reassuring presence with all patients.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to listen actively and convey information clearly.
- Adherence to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy at all times.
- Reliability in following clinic procedures, documenting when required, and escalating concerns appropriately whenever necessary.
- Be comfortable working in a healthcare or clinical environment with back-to-back booking where delays may occur.
- Understanding of local safeguarding principles and willingness to follow relevant local and clinic policies and yearly CPD training.
- Adherence to self-development and training protocols, infection control, and patient safety; basic IT skills for scheduling or record-keeping would be essential.
- Enhanced DBS or equivalent background check may be required.
