General Overview
David Phiillips FF&E is a specialist contracting business actively engaged in the PBSA, BTR and Later Living markets and has been trading for over 10 years. The core team comprises sales, design, estimating, procurement and project / site management personnel, with installation services provided via a select group of third-party contractors who have worked on behalf of the business for many years
The Estimating manager main duties will be to create commercially compliant cost estimates, prepare submission documents, support the preparation of internal and external reporting and maintenance of cost information in estimating database
Principal Tasks
- Attend pre- and post-tender meetings as required
- Undertake cost estimating activities as part of bid preparation process
- Coordinate design information / commercial input for bid proposals
- Support the implementation of the supply partnering strategy
- Arrange and conduct internal Bid Reviews as / when required
- Help create and maintain current costing information
- Prepare materials for internal handover on successful securing of contracts
- Use and help improve estimating tools / templates / processes / procedures
- Source reliable, bespoke suppliers for non-standard product costs
- Act as bid lead for allocated projects
- Take responsibility for managing client information
- Take responsibility for chasing for missing information (RFI)

Qualification & Experience:
A) Essential:
- 2noA Levels at A or B Grades (one preferably Maths related)
- Exposure to commercial negotiation
- Customer focused
- Working in a team environment
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
B) Desirable:
- Bachelor’s degree in Design / Engineering / QS
- Knowledge of FF&E
- Knowledge of construction
- Previous experience in estimating
- Ability to travel and visit clients and sites in progress
