About the Role
Lead from the front in a dynamic, hands‑on environment.
You will take charge of the pool and sports facilities, ensuring they are safe, compliant, and welcoming for all.
You will lead and inspire a team of lifeguards, coaches, and activity staff, while also rolling up your sleeves and getting involved in day‑to‑day operations – from lifeguarding to supporting engaging activities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team to deliver outstanding, safe services.
- Take responsibility for facility operations during shifts.
- Act as a key decision‑maker in emergency situations.
- Oversee engaging aquatic and sports programmes.
- Embed a strong culture of safety, safeguarding, and inclusion.
- Ensure compliance with all health & safety and pool plant standards.
- Support staff development, training, and performance.
- Drive continuous improvement through feedback and participation.
- Qualities & Qualifications
- A confident leader with supervisory experience.
- Qualified with an NPLQ and Pool Plant Operator’s Licence, or willing to complete the licence.
- Experienced in lifeguarding and sports/activity delivery.
- Calm and decisive under pressure.
- Passionate about inclusive, person‑centred practice.
- A strong communicator who can motivate and develop others.
- Organised, proactive, and solutions‑focused.
Desirable
- Coaching/swim teaching qualifications.
- RLSS supervisor training.
