Land-Based Services at Top Farm are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Animal and Farm Assistant to join our vibrant frontline team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference—supporting both animal wellbeing and the people we support who work alongside them.

About the Role

As an Animal and Farm Assistant, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day care of our diverse range of animals while helping to create a positive and engaging environment for the people we support, colleagues, and visitors.

Responsibilities

  • Daily care, feeding, and handling of animals
  • Weighing animals and monitoring their health and wellbeing
  • Cleaning, maintaining, and tidying animal enclosures and stables
  • Supporting and assisting with veterinary visits
  • Liaising with colleagues to ensure the highest standards of animal welfare
  • Helping to maintain positive relationships with staff, people we support, and the public

Our Animals

At Top Farm, we have a wide variety of animals, from reptiles to wallabies. Sheep, pigs, and donkeys are just a few of the amazing animals you’ll care for each day. Other residents include alpacas, horses, ducks, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, turtles, tortoises, axolotls, fish, birds, hamsters, gerbils, stick and leaf insects—and even an emu!

We’re also looking to expand our animal family, so experience with additional species is very welcome.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Positive, enthusiastic, and has a real can-do attitude
  • A strong team player who can also work independently when needed
  • Passionate about animal care and welfare
  • Confident working with people we support and members of the public

Essential

  • Level 3 qualification (or above) in Animal Management or equivalent

Desirable

  • Experience working with a wide range of animals
  • Experience working with people we support and/or the general public
