This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join an established and well-respected Mechanical & Electrical Building Services Contractor based just west of Ascot in Berkshire. The company works across various sectors including Commercial, Healthcare, Office Fit-Out and High End Residential, with typical project values ranging from £100k up to £2m, delivering full M&E solutions from initial design to commissioning.

About the Role:

As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a critical role in the tendering and pre-construction phase of projects. You will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive cost estimates for mechanical packages, collaborating closely with internal departments and external suppliers to ensure precise and commercially viable submissions.

  • Prepare detailed and competitive tenders for mechanical services ranging from £100k to £2m
  • Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and client requirements
  • Assess material, labour, and equipment costs accurately
  • Identify cost-saving and value-engineering opportunities
  • Work closely with the pre-construction, design, and project teams
  • Analyse quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure best value
  • Maintain up-to-date cost databases and historical pricing records
  • Contribute to high-quality bid submissions and tender documents

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the Building Services sector
  • Strong technical understanding of mechanical building systems (HVAC, plumbing, public health)
  • Commercially astute with excellent attention to detail
  • Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
