This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Approved Electrician or Testing Electrician to join a respected Electrical Contractor delivering commercial PPM and EICR works across London and the surrounding areas, with realistic earnings of £55,000–£60,000.

The Role – Approved Electrician (PPM & Testing)
This is a mobile role with a strong focus on electrical testing (EICR), supported by planned and reactive maintenance, as well as remedial and installation works where required.
You will be responsible for:
- Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR) across commercial properties
- Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Reactive maintenance and fault finding
- Electrical installation and remedial works
- General electrical duties across a range of commercial environments
Work is carried out across London and the surrounding counties, with jobs planned efficiently to ensure a structured working day and minimise unnecessary travel time. This role offers excellent variety, with a clear emphasis on testing, whilst also providing exposure to maintenance and installation works, ensuring a well-rounded and engaging workload.
Working Pattern & Overtime
Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (daytime hours). There are strong opportunities to increase earnings through overtime and additional work, including:
- Evening work (when required) paid at x1.5
- Saturday work paid at x1.5
- Sunday work paid at x2
- Callout rota with £100 standby payment
On occasions where evening works are scheduled, hours may be adjusted across the week (for example, condensed into a 4-day working pattern). Realistic earnings of £55,000–£60,000 based on overtime and callout participation.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- 2391 Inspection & Testing (or equivalent)
- ECS Card
- Full UK Driving Licence
You must be confident working independently in a mobile role and comfortable carrying out both testing and maintenance duties.
Remuneration Package – Approved Electrician
- £45,000 – £48,000 basic salary
- Overtime available (enhanced rates as above)
