The Opportunity
Due to continued growth across their testing division, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Tester to join the team. This role is centred around carrying out EICRs, emergency lighting testing, and fault finding across a portfolio of commercial and domestic properties in East London, with occasional travel to surrounding Greater London sites.
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical testing, ensuring compliance with the latest regulations, and producing accurate certification. This position would suit an experienced Electrician or Electrical Test Engineer with strong EICR experience who takes pride in delivering detailed, accurate work to a high professional standard.
Responsibilities
- Carry out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) across commercial and domestic sites
- Complete emergency lighting testing, fault finding, diagnostics, and minor remedials
- Produce accurate test certificates and all associated documentation
- Ensure compliance with BS 7671 and current IET Wiring Regulations
- Maintain testing equipment and ensure calibration standards are met
- Work in line with planned testing schedules and job sheets provided by the supervisor
- Liaise with clients, site staff, and supervisors to coordinate access and testing
- Support the wider electrical maintenance team when required
- Participate in a call-out rota for urgent testing and electrical safety issues
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience carrying out electrical testing and producing EICRs
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
- 18th Edition
- 2391 / 2392 (or equivalent Inspection & Testing qualification)
- Strong experience producing EICRs and related documentation
- Sound understanding of UK electrical installation and testing standards
- Competent with testing software and digital reporting tools
- Full UK driving licence
Remuneration Package – Electrical Tester
- £44,750 – £46,750 basic salary (reflective of experience)
- Company van, fuel card, phone, laptop, and tools provided
- Overtime available at an enhanced rate of pay - 1.5x (Saturdays) and 2x (Sundays)
- Working hours: 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday
- 24 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
- Health cover and company pension
