This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Electrical Tester / Electrical Test Engineer to join a respected electrical contractor delivering testing and compliance works across a varied commercial portfolio throughout London.

The Opportunity

Due to continued growth across their testing division, the company is seeking an experienced Electrical Tester / Electrical Test Engineer to join the team. The role focuses primarily on commercial electrical testing and compliance, including Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs), fixed wire testing, emergency lighting, fault finding, and associated remedial works across a range of commercial buildings, with some domestic testing where required. The position also includes participation in a call-out rota. This role would suit an Electrical Tester with strong EICR experience, confidence working to the latest electrical regulations, and a professional, client-facing approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) across commercial and domestic properties
  • Complete fixed wire testing, emergency lighting testing, fault finding, diagnostics, and minor remedial works
  • Produce accurate test certificates and compliance documentation using digital reporting systems
  • Ensure all works comply with BS 7671 and current IET Wiring Regulations
  • Maintain testing equipment and ensure calibration compliance
  • Work in line with pre-planned testing schedules and job sheets
  • Liaise with clients, site staff, and supervisors to coordinate access and works
  • Support the wider electrical maintenance team when required

Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience in electrical testing and EICR production
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
  • 18th Edition qualification
  • 2391 or 2392 Inspection and Testing (or equivalent)
  • Strong commercial EICR and inspection experience
  • Good understanding of UK electrical testing standards and compliance
  • Experience using testing software and digital reporting tools
  • Full UK driving licence

Remuneration Package

  • Β£45,000 - Β£48,000 basic salary
  • Company van, fuel card, phone, laptop, and tools provided
  • Overtime available at enhanced rates (1.5x Saturdays, 2x Sundays)
  • Working hours: 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday
  • 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Health cover and company pension
