M&E Design Manager (Building Services) –£70,000 to £80,000 depending on experience + Company Car/Allowance + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

This is a fantastic opportunity for an M&E Design Manager, or similar role, to take the lead on high-quality Building Services projects across multiple sectors.

About the Company

A respected and long-established Mechanical & Electrical Building Services contractor based in Cambridgeshire, delivering projects valued between £500k and £10m across commercial, education, healthcare, data centre, and smart building sectors. Known for technical excellence, repeat business, and a collaborative culture, they provide clear progression and development opportunities for their people.

Responsibilities
This is a full-time, office-based role in Peterborough, commutable from St Neots, Huntingdon, Cambridge and surrounding areas. As M&E Design Manager, youll oversee design delivery from concept through to commissioning, coordinating teams, clients, and consultants to ensure projects are efficient, compliant, and commercially aligned.

  • Taking ownership of design delivery across multiple concurrent projects
  • Coordinating Mechanical and Electrical design teams alongside external consultants
  • Providing technical expertise during tender and design development
  • Embedding energy-efficient and compliant design solutions into every project
  • Reviewing and approving drawings, specifications, and calculations
  • Supporting construction teams with design queries, variations, and change control
  • Building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure alignment with programme, budget, and compliance requirements

This role would also suit those currently working as a Senior M&E Design Engineer, MEP Design Manager, Building Services Design Manager, orMechanical/Electrical Design Manager within the Building Services sector.
