This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Approved Electrician or Testing Electrician to join a well-established Electrical Contractor delivering commercial PPM, EICR, and maintenance works across East London and the surrounding areas, with realistic earnings of £55,000-£60,000. The Role
Approved Electrician (PPM & Testing) This is a mobile role with a strong focus on electrical testing (EICR), supported by planned and reactive maintenance, as well as remedial and installation works where required.
- Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR) across commercial properties
- Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Reactive maintenance and fault finding

- General electrical duties across a range of commercial environments
Work is primarily across East London and surrounding counties, with jobs scheduled efficiently to ensure a structured working day and minimise unnecessary travel. This role offers excellent variety, with a clear emphasis on testing while maintaining exposure to maintenance and installation work, providing a well-rounded and engaging workload.
Working Pattern & Overtime
Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (daytime hours). There are strong opportunities to increase earnings through overtime and additional work:
- Evening work (when required) paid at x1.5
- Saturday work paid at x1.5
- Sunday work paid at x2
- Callout rota with £100 standby payment
Where evening works are required, hours may be adjusted across the week (for example, condensed into a 4-day working pattern). Realistic earnings of £55,000-£60,000 based on overtime and callout participation.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- 2391 Inspection & Testing (or equivalent)
- ECS Card
- Full UK Driving Licence
You will be comfortable working independently in a mobile role, with a professional approach and strong attention to detail. This opportunity would suit individuals seeking a stable, long-term position within a well-run and reputable contractor.
