Head of Residential Surveying - London

David Jay Surveying Recruitment is delighted to be working in partnership with a highly respected and expanding independent Residential Surveying practice to recruit a Head of Residential Surveying. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Residential Surveying professional to join the senior leadership team and play a key role in shaping the future direction of a successful and growing business. The company has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality RICS Level 2 Homebuyer Reports and Level 3 Building Surveys, and the successful candidate will lead the Residential Surveying division while helping to maintain the technical excellence and customer service standards that the business is known for.

The Role

Working closely with the Directors, you will oversee the day-to-day management of the Residential Surveying division, providing leadership, technical guidance and support to the surveying team. The workload is focused predominantly on RICS Level 2 Homebuyer Reports and Level 3 Building Surveys, with no emphasis on high-volume mortgage valuation work. This is an excellent opportunity for a Surveyor who enjoys the technical aspects of Residential Surveying and is passionate about delivering high-quality reports. This is a genuine leadership role, combining strategic management responsibilities with approximately one to two days each week undertaking Residential Survey inspections within the M25. Attendance at the North London office will be required two days per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of Residential Surveyors.
• Oversee the delivery of high-quality Level 2 Homebuyer Reports and Level 3 Building Surveys.
• Support the continued growth and strategic development of the Residential Surveying division.
• Play an active role in recruiting and developing new surveyors joining the business.
• Maintain exceptional technical, reporting and customer service standards.
• Assist with onboarding, mentoring and ongoing professional development.
• Undertake residential survey inspections approximately one to two days per week.
• Ensure compliance with RICS professional standards and internal quality procedures.
• Work collaboratively with the senior leadership team to support the continued success of the business.

Candidate Profile

• AssocRICS, MRICS or FRICS.
• Strong Residential Surveying background with experience undertaking Level 2 Homebuyer Reports and Level 3 Building Surveys.
• Previous leadership, management or mentoring experience would be advantageous.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• A passion for technical excellence, mentoring others and delivering an outstanding client experience.
