DEA's Civil Engineering group is hiring a Project Engineer/Engineering Designer to support our Land Development Business Unit. Under supervision of assigned Project Engineer(s), this individual will perform work in support of a variety of residential and commercial land development projects. As part of a design team, they will contribute to the development of stormwater management, utility, and roadway designs, including construction documents and all supporting documentation. This position offers remote work options with a preferred location in the Puget Sound Area.
Position Duties:
- Apply civil engineering principles to projects, either as a team leader or independently.
- Create design plans and lead the production of specifications for projects including site layouts, grading, drainage, paving, utilities, and related civil activities.
- Lead water quality reports and drainage studies, including hydraulic and hydrologic calculations.
- Perform calculations, prepare specifications and proposals, and handle permitting applications.
- Manage project schedules, prepare and review cost estimates, and coordinate with clients.
- Execute complex assignments by evaluating, selecting, and modifying standard engineering techniques.
- Develop new approaches to solve problems.
- Interface with clients and public agencies.
- Potentially supervise project staff and mentor junior team members.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- At least 4 years of relevant design experience in land development projects.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineering License.
- 8+ years of land development design experience.
- LEED AP Certification.
