About the role
We are looking for a reliable Class 2 driver to join our transport team based at our Cheadle Heath depot. You will carry out collections and deliveries of varied loads across local and national routes in line with customer requirements. You will receive full training to operate HIAB and Moffett-equipped vehicles. This is a hands-on role where safety, care of load, and great customer service matter.
Key responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 2 vehicles for multi-drop and trunking work, locally and nationwide.
- Complete company-provided training to operate HIAB cranes and Moffett (truck-mounted forklift) equipment; use equipment in line with training and site rules.
- Secure all loads using straps and appropriate restraints; perform pre- and post-trip checks.
- Plan and navigate suitable routes, adhering to traffic laws, bridge heights/weights, and local restrictions.
- Complete delivery/collection paperwork and electronic PODs accurately.
- Communicate professionally with customers, traffic office, and depot teams.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report defects promptly.
What we are looking for
- Valid UK Category C (Class 2) licence with no more than 6 points.
- Up-to-date Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
- Sound knowledge of UK road network, drivers hours, and Working Time Directive.
- Ability to secure varied loads safely and follow safe systems of work.
- Positive attitude, good timekeeping, and customer-focused approach.
- Desirable: Experience with HIAB or Moffett (not essential, full training provided).
