We are looking for a highly organized and commercially astute Marketing Manager to join our Brand & Content team, focusing on the \’Garden Roses\’ side of our business.

To provide clarity, this role is focused on driving growth through our key business channels and partners. Our significant direct-to-consumer (D2C) e-commerce business is managed by a separate dedicated team.

In this pivotal role, you will act as the key marketing contact for our diverse business units, effectively operating in an \”internal agency\” capacity to support their growth and success. You will be responsible for understanding their unique needs, developing strategic partner marketing plans, and ensuring the timely delivery of world-class marketing materials that ultimately inspire the end consumer.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a marketing professional with a knack for project management and a passion for premium brands. You will be instrumental in driving demand for our celebrated rose varieties across our global partner network.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary marketing partner for our key business channels:

  • Licensing: Collaborate with our international team to support our network of licensed growers and their retailers worldwide, creating marketing initiatives that drive demand and royalty revenue.
  • Trade: Develop and execute marketing plans to engage and support garden designers, landscape architects, and large private estates.
  • Wholesale: Create targeted marketing materials to support our sales to garden centres and plant nurseries across the UK.
  • David Austin Plant Centre: Devise and implement marketing strategies to drive footfall and sales at our flagship retail store at our Shropshire headquarters.
  • Work closely with the heads of each business unit to understand their commercial objectives and translate them into actionable marketing plans.
  • Develop clear and compelling marketing messaging that resonates with diverse audiences while maintaining the integrity of the David Austin brand.
  • Plan and manage marketing calendars, ensuring a cohesive and timely execution of campaigns and activities.

Project Management & Delivery:

  • Act as the central point of contact, briefing and collaborating with our in-house Brand & Content and Digital teams.
  • Write clear, concise, and inspiring briefs for the creative team (graphic design, copywriting, content) and the digital team (email marketing, paid media, e-commerce).
  • Manage projects from conception to completion, ensuring all marketing materials are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standard.
  • Ensure all marketing collateral is brand-consistent and effectively communicates the quality and beauty of our roses.

Team & Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Reporting to the Head of Brand & Content, you will be a key player in a collaborative and creative marketing department.
  • Foster strong, positive relationships with all internal stakeholders, built on trust and excellent communication.
  • Be a proactive and supportive team member, contributing to the overall success of the Brand & Content team.

Who we are looking for:

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Marketing Manager or similar role.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing successful marketing plans.
  • Experience working with a premium lifestyle, home, or garden brand is highly desirable.
  • Experience in a marketing agency or an in-house \”agency style\” team, managing multiple clients or stakeholders, would be a significant advantage.

Skills:

Exceptional Organisation & Project Management: You are a planner by nature, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Strategic Thinker: You can see the bigger picture and develop marketing plans that deliver on commercial objectives.

Excellent Communicator: You possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills and can articulate ideas and briefs with clarity and precision.

Collaborative Team Player: You thrive in a team environment and are skilled at building strong working relationships across different departments.

Creative Sensibility: You have an eye for quality and an appreciation for strong creative work.
