BACKGROUND & ROLE PURPOSE
David Austin Roses is one of the world’s most admired heritage brands, renowned for breeding the finest English roses for over sixty years. Building on long-standing success in horticulture and cut-rose licensing, David Austin Rose Bouquets (DARB) was launched as a direct-to-consumer (DTC) proposition, bringing the beauty, craftsmanship and emotional resonance of David Austin roses directly into customers’ homes.
DARB is an early-stage DTC business, live for under a year, with positive customer feedback and strong operational delivery, but still learning who its ideal customer is and how best to communicate its premium proposition. The next phase of growth is not about rapid scale, but about getting the fundamentals right: customer acquisition, conversion, testing, learning and consistency.
The eCommerce & Digital Manager role exists to take clear ownership of day-to-day DTC performance. This is a hands-on operator role for someone who enjoys execution, experimentation and learning, and who can turn performance data into clear actions over time.
You will work closely with the Director, brand and operations teams to build confidence in what works, reduce noise, and create the foundations for future growth.
As an early‑stage D2C business, we are at the point where day‑to‑day performance needs clear, consistent ownership. We are looking for someone who can:
- Proactively find and acquire customers in a low‑volume, early‑stage context
- Turn performance data into clear actions and priorities
- Run a consistent weekly trading and testing rhythm
- Own conversion, funnel performance and the on‑site experience
- Make paid media and email work together as joined‑up acquisition and conversion channels
- Learn from performance and develop an effective multi-channel digital marketing strategy
This role exists to own and improve day‑to‑day DTC performance, with an early focus on customer acquisition and learning, rather than inventing brand strategy or creative from scratch.
Why Join David Austin Roses?
At David Austin Roses, you will help shape the future of a globally respected, heritage brand entering an exciting new chapter of growth. You will work in a thoughtful, warm and highly collaborative environment, surrounded by beauty, creativity and a deep commitment to craft. You will have the freedom to build, the space to experiment, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on a brand loved around the world.
Benefits
- Hybrid working with flexibility
- Beautiful office environment in the Shropshire countryside
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
- Pension contributions on total earnings
- Employee discounts across roses and bouquets
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Learning and development opportunities
