We are a friendly, family-run; very well-established wholesale meat trading company operating from Smithfield Market in the City of London.
Candidate Requirements
We are looking for a General Assist who will be working at the retail end of our business with our direct customers, along with carrying out deliveries using our company van.
We are seeking somebody with a warm, friendly outlook; customer focused and able to fit comfortably into a hard-working close team.
Your day will also be filled with a variety of other interesting tasks, from serving retail customers, checking stock and keeping records to looking after health & safety and food hygiene.
The candidate must be reliable, punctual, hard-working; have a flexible attitude towards work, and working hours and enjoy working as part of a team.
The candidate role will also be split as required, to carry out deliveries of meat products efficiently and accurately in a professional manner to various customers.
Previous delivery experience using long wheel base vehicles is essential. Good knowledge of London and surrounds would also be an advantage.
The candidate will be provided the company vehicle for deliveries and is expected to drive responsibly and safely; obeying all traffic laws and the Highway Code at all times.
Candidates based in Kent are preferred. Deliveries are based in London and surrounds. Candidates would be required to drive into Central London at the start of the night to carry deliveries with routes ending in the Kent areas.
Candidates must hold a full UK driving license.
This is a physically demanding role involving heavy lifting.
This is a night-based role – applicants must therefore be able to work night shifts Monday – Friday.
