The Marketing and PR Manager role will be responsible for all communications related to antiquities and natural history gallery, David Aaron Ltd. This role will oversee marketing and public relations campaigns in the UK and internationally and the development of the David Aaron brand.

David Aaron Ltd is a renowned gallery in Mayfair, London, specialising in Classical Greek and Roman, Egyptian, Near Eastern, and Islamic works of art, as well as important items of natural history. The gallery has facilitated the creation of celebrated private collections and collaborated with prestigious museums worldwide. David Aaron presents exceptional pieces of ancient art and natural history in their Mayfair showroom and at leading international art fairs including Frieze and TEFAF.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a creative and driven individual to join a busy gallery environment. This is an on‑site role, for a marketing and PR professional.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing relationships with media outlets, executing successful press campaigns, and managing engaging content across social media and digital channels to increase brand awareness, drive traffic, and foster community engagement. The right person will have exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail, a can‑do attitude, and a personable manner.
KEY DUTIES
Marketing
- Propose viable marketing strategies for art fairs, key artworks, exhibitions, and special projects with a goal of raising awareness of the brand, reaching potential clients and growing David Aaron’s community.
- Create and schedule content for social media and monitor and community manage social channels with the aim of growing engagement and followers across profiles.
- Prepare regular e‑newsletters to promote gallery activity and engage clients.
- Update the gallery website regularly including artwork listings, events and blog posts.
- Monitor SEO performance and identify areas of improvement to increase website search visibility and usability.
- Measure the performance of campaign activity to inform future planning and modelling.
Public Relations
- Oversee the development of public relations strategies and press relationships with journalists.
- Secure valuable journalistic interest from highly respected news and art media outlets including The Financial Times, The Times, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, BBC, Forbes and The Art Newspaper.
- Craft targeted press campaigns for art fairs and special projects engaging relevant art and news media based on topic and location.
- Maintain and update a database of press contacts; seek out new contacts to expand the gallery’s media presence.
- Work with gallery Directors to define the strategies and steps needed to achieve objectives and help secure high‑value press coverage regionally and globally.
Brand
- Develop and implement the overall brand and communication strategy for David Aaron, positioning the business as a leading voice and destination for antiquities and natural history collectors.
- Drive brand recognition through all communications activities including marketing, media, advertising, partnerships, collaborations, presence at art fairs, and public speaking opportunities.
- Lead on maintaining and developing a strong brand image for David Aaron working closely with the Directors.
- Contribute ideas and creative direction to gallery projects including catalogues, photoshoots and events.
- On occasion, organise events for the gallery including exhibition openings, fair previews, media calls and community events.
- Manage photography and videography needs from the gallery including scheduling and supervision of shoots.
- Amplify and strengthen David Aaron’s presence and reputation in the culturally rich Mayfair area through the avenues such as the Berkeley Square public art program and maintaining a national network of connections with local business and media outlets.
- Identify and manage reputational risks on behalf of the gallery including crisis communication planning and preparation.
- Build strong connections with ultra‑high‑net‑worth individuals and cultural institutions to strengthen David Aaron's position in the global art and fossil sectors, supporting the gallery’s business development and building relationships with potential clients.
REPORTING LINES
Reports to the Gallery Directors.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in producing successful marketing campaigns in the arts or cultural sector.
- Experience in developing press relations and executing public relations campaigns in the arts or cultural sector.
- Established press contacts in the arts and culture space.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Punctual and excellent time management skills, a self‑starter.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, or related field
