Our client is a global General Insurance firm in the City of London. They seek to recruit an experienced Senior Underwriter.
Key Responsibilities
- As a Senior Underwriter, you will be responsible for trading, underwriting and service activities, with the objective of offering consistent quality service to customers, delivering satisfactory and profitable results for the company, and developing good business relationships with our broker panel.
- Develop good business relationships with new and existing brokers.
- Contribute to the financial and underwriting performance of the Company and overall profitability of the business.
- Underwrite existing cases and contribute to loss ratio control by adhering to the Company’s underwriting controls.
- Identify reasons for lack of retention and poor conversion to take actions to increase retention and implement actions agreed with brokers to improve account performance.
- Manage and recruit brokers and cover-holders in the area and build effective trading relationships with brokers through trading activities.
- Monitor agency performance and compliance and produce monthly brokers performance results.
- Set up and review existing arrangements and underwriting guides to ensure brokers deliver desired performance.
- Provide quotes, issue documents, respond to inquiries and offer underwriting referral support to the binding brokers.
The Requirements
- Over 7 years commercial underwriting experience, especially in home, office, SME, and liability insurances.
- Degree level education is desirable and Certificate in Insurance (Cert CII).
- Good understanding and knowledge of the insurance industry.
- Knowledge and experience of underwriting insurance risks.
