Role Purpose

To ensure all incoming materials, in-process assemblies, and finished switchgear products meet Davenham's quality standards and customer requirements. The Quality Control Technician will carry out inspections, record results, and support continuous improvement activities to maintain product reliability and compliance.

The Quality Control Technician role will include:

  • Inspect incoming goods, in-process assemblies, and final products against drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Perform visual checks on electrical and mechanical components.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and traceability documentation.
  • Identify non-conformances and escalate issues to relevant teams for resolution.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action activities.
  • Ensure all measuring and test equipment is calibrated and used correctly.
  • Assist in the development and review of quality check sheets, SOPs, and inspection criteria.
  • Promote a strong culture of quality awareness on the shop floor.

What you'll need to be successful in the Quality Control Technician role:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering quality control role.
  • Understanding of quality inspection tools (calipers, torque tools, multimeters, etc.).
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording data.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
