Full job description Control Room Operator Location: Manvers Pay Rate: £15.16 per hour Hours: 07:00–17:00, Monday to Friday Job Type: Full-time Start Date: ASAP About the Role We are currently recruiting for a Control Room Operator to join a busy Waste Treatment & Renewable Energy Facility based in Manvers. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing operation where you will play a key role in the safe, efficient and continuous operation of the facility. As a Control Room Operator, you will be responsible for monitoring plant and equipment from the control room, responding to operational issues and ensuring the facility operates in line with all health & safety, environmental and operational standards. This role would suit someone with experience in waste management, recycling, manufacturing, process operations or a similar industrial environment who is looking to develop their career within the waste and renewable energy sector. Key Responsibilities * Operate and monitor MBT SCADA/control systems, optimising crane movements, waste placement and Refinement throughput. * Diagnose operational issues and take appropriate corrective action, liaising with Engineering to prioritise critical breakdowns. * Monitor crane performance, downtime and operating data, maintaining accurate records and producing weekly Pareto reports. * Carry out site fly treatments and review monitoring data in accordance with the site Fly Management Plan. * Maintain accurate stock control and records of contract and non-contract waste. * Monitor and respond appropriately to fires, alarms and fire-system faults. * Maintain safe, efficient and compliant site operations, working towards daily, weekly and monthly KPIs. * Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation, Company policies, the site Environmental Permit and PFI contract requirements. * Support continuous improvement and the implementation of new processes, standards and procedures. * Carry out light equipment maintenance, housekeeping and cleaning duties. * Deputise for the MBT Supervisor when required. * Work towards becoming a Site Senior Approved Person (SAP), responsible for site isolations, permits and contractor control. * Undertake any other reasonable duties required by the Company. About You Essential Requirements: * Experience using SCADA systems, ideally within a process plant or similar operational environment. * Experience working to defined KPIs and delivering continuous improvement. * Experience implementing new processes and data capture/reporting systems. * Good understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance. * Knowledge of MRF/waste operations. * Strong communication and people skills, with the ability to work effectively at all levels. * Good customer service and organisational skills. * Computer literate. * Willingness to undertake relevant internal and external training. * Live within 20 miles of the plant. * Full UK driving licence. Preferred: Mobile plant operating experience. Experience working shifts. Knowledge of waste-processing operations and the principles of valves, pumps, motors and associated instrumentation. Basic mechanical and plant maintenance skills. Logistics operations experience. Fire Marshal training. First Aid qualification.
