Full job description Fabricator-Welder – Night Shift Location: Ancaster, NG32 Pay: £18.00 per hour Shift: 8:00pm – 4:00am Job Type: Full-time, Night Shift We are looking for an experienced Fabricator-Welder to join our busy Fabrications team in Ancaster, NG32 on a permanent night shift. This is a hands-on role involving the repair, maintenance and refurbishment of waste containers, ensuring they are safe, functional, presentable and ready for customer use. The successful candidate will have strong fabrication and welding experience, excellent practical skills and a commitment to working safely and to a high standard. The Role Your responsibilities will include: Carrying out welding, grinding, cutting, burning and general fabrication duties Repairing and maintaining waste containers to ensure they are safe, functional and presentable Carrying out MIG welding and other welding and fabrication tasks as required Reading and working from technical drawings Using grinders, cutting equipment and general fabrication tools Maintaining machinery, tools and equipment and reporting any defects Working alongside the welding and fabrication team and third-party contractors Supporting the wider maintenance workshop when required Ensuring work areas are safe and free from hazards before starting tasks Maintaining good housekeeping standards within the fabrication yard Cleaning down your work area at the end of each shift Completing relevant documentation, including log sheets, tool checks and inspection reports Following all company Health & Safety procedures and safe systems of work Health & Safety Health and safety is central to this role. You will be expected to: * Follow all company Health & Safety policies and procedures * Use the correct PPE at all times * Carry out hot works in line with HSE guidance and permit-to-work procedures * Report hazards, unsafe conditions, near misses and incidents immediately * Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment * Participate in relevant SHEQ workshop inspections and activities Requirements To be considered for this role, you will need: * NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Fabrication & Welding, or an equivalent qualification – required * Proven experience in MIG welding * Ability to read and understand technical drawings * Experience using grinders, cutting equipment and general fabrication tools * Strong practical and mechanical skills * Good understanding of workshop Health & Safety * Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality * Strong problem-solving skills * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Reliable, proactive and safety-conscious approach Desirable Experience & Qualifications It would be advantageous to have: * BS EN ISO 9606-1 Welding Qualification or equivalent certification * IPAF or PASMA certification * Forklift Truck licence, such as Counterbalance or Telehandler * Experience within waste, recycling, manufacturing or heavy-duty engineering * Hot Works and Fire Safety awareness training * First Aid at Work certification * Full UK driving licence, where operationally required Working Hours & Pay £18.00 per hour Night Shift: 8:00pm – 4:00am Location: Ancaster, NG32 This is a great opportunity for an experienced Fabricator-Welder looking for a stable night shift position where you can use your welding and fabrication skills in a busy operational environment
