Are you energetic, customer-focused and passionate about sport, fitness and helping others? We're looking for a motivated Recreation Assistant Apprentice to join our team and play a key role in creating a safe, welcoming and professional environment for all users of our facilities.
What You'll Do:
- Set up, check and prepare sports, fitness and activity areas ready for use
- Carry out routine cleaning tasks and ensure facilities remain clean, safe and well maintained
- Complete equipment and facility safety checks and report any faults or concerns
- Support the day-to-day operation of the sports centre, following health and safety procedures
- Welcome visitors, answer enquiries and provide excellent customer service
- Supervise users throughout the facility and promote a safe, inclusive environment
- Lifeguard pool sessions, respond to emergencies and provide First Aid when required
- Complete operational records, including pool tests, equipment checks, cleaning logs and incident reports
- Assist with facility bookings, events and external hire activities
- Support student lifeguards, staff and volunteers during activities and events
- Help with maintenance and improvement projects around the facility
- Attend training and work towards Level 2 Leisure Team Member, NPLQ, Swimming Teacher and Gym Instructor qualifications
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times
