As a Quality Engineer (m/f/d), you will play a key role in driving continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring high quality standards across production and processes. You will act as a central interface between internal teams, customers, and suppliers, leading problem-solving activities and supporting key quality processes such as APQP and PPAP. This position requires a hands-on, analytical mindset and a proactive approach to identifying and implementing sustainable improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Drive continuous improvement (CIP) initiatives across production and quality processes, ensuring effective implementation and follow-up of actions.
  • Act as the main point of contact for quality-related topics within assigned projects, collaborating with internal teams, customers, and suppliers.
  • Lead and coordinate the resolution of quality issues using structured problem-solving methods (e.g., 8D, root cause analysis, Ishikawa).
  • Support and manage customer quality requirements, including APQP and PPAP processes, ensuring product and process readiness.
  • Analyze production and quality data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct scrap and defect analyses and implement corrective and preventive measures to enhance performance.
  • Plan, conduct, and support internal audits, ensuring compliance with quality standards and internal processes.
  • Participate in gate and program reviews to ensure quality deliverables throughout the product lifecycle.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Management or a related technical field.
  • Initial professional experience in Quality Engineering or within a manufacturing environment.
  • Solid knowledge of core quality tools and methods (e.g. APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, Control Plan, PFMEA) as well as structured problem-solving approaches (e.g. 8D).
  • Auditing experience of production and business systems with solid understanding of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Good understanding of quality management systems and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong analytical skills, a structured and solution-oriented working approach, and excellent IT skills (MS Office; preferably experience with Minitab).
