Datum Tool Design is a leading precision engineering company supplying high-quality components to the aerospace sector. Due to continued growth and increased production demand, we are seeking a reliable and skilledCNC Operator to join our team at our Lisburn facility.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on machining work, takes pride in quality and accuracy, and wants long-term stability in a modern, clean, and well-equipped environment. You will play an important role in producing precision aerospace components to demanding standards, working with advanced equipment as part of a skilled and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate 3 & 5-axis CNC machining centres
- Load and run proven CNC programs
- Carry out tool changes and offsets as required
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Perform in-process inspection using measuring equipment (micrometres, verniers, gauges)
- Ensure components meet strict tolerance and quality standards
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Work closely with programmers and quality personnel
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience operating CNC machines in a precision engineering environment
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings
- Experience working to tight tolerances
- Knowledge of measuring equipment and inspection processes
- Strong attention to detail
- Good work ethic and team-focused attitude
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Experience within the aerospace sector
- Experience operating 5-axis machines
- Experience operating CNC machines withFanuc andHeidenhain controls
- Programming experience
- Willingness to work shifts if required at premium rate

Location & Working Hours
Location: Lisburn, Northern Ireland
Hours:
- 40-hour basic week
- MondayThursday: 8:00am 5:00pm
- Friday: 8:00am 2:00pm
Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience.
Overtime available as required.
