An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and commercially driven Technical Sales Engineer to join a specialist engineering and industrial services business operating within the extraction and filtration sector. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge, a consultative sales approach, and a passion for building long-term customer relationships across industrial and commercial markets.

As Technical Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for growing service revenue across a designated UK region through a mixture of new business development and account management. You will work closely with operational and service delivery teams to ensure customers receive high-quality technical support and tailored service solutions. You will act as a key point of contact for customers, identifying opportunities for service agreements, reactive maintenance, preventative maintenance, upgrades, and technical support services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new business opportunities and increase market share within target industries
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers
  • Manage and grow a regional customer portfolio
  • Carry out customer visits, site surveys, and technical assessments
  • Produce technical reports, quotations, and service proposals
  • Negotiate service agreements and support tender submissions
  • Maintain and develop a healthy sales pipeline through proactive activity
  • Achieve agreed sales KPIs, revenue targets, and forecasting requirements
  • Update and manage CRM records, activities, and opportunities accurately
  • Work collaboratively with service and operations teams to ensure excellent customer satisfaction
  • Monitor competitor activity and market developments
  • Support service execution activities where required

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous field sales experience within industrial services, engineering, extraction systems, or capital equipment
  • Strong technical understanding of extraction or filtration systems and industrial installations
  • Ability to understand customer processes and develop bespoke service solutions
  • Knowledge of electrical and control systems, pneumatic systems, PLCs and inverter drives, ATEX regulations, IOT and digital service technologies
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated with strong organisational and time management skills
  • Comfortable generating your own leads and conducting cold outreach
  • IT literate with CRM experience
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the UK, including occasional overnight stays

Qualifications

  • Background in a technical or engineering discipline preferred
  • Business-related qualifications also considered
  • Full UK driving licence required
