DATS Engineering Solutions is actively seeking a skilled and versatile Quality Manager / Deputy Technical Manager to support one of our valued clients. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a small, hands-on environment where flexibility, technical expertise, and problem-solving skills are essential.
About The Client: Our client is a highly specialised engineering laboratory offering advanced testing services for various industries, including aerospace and construction. They maintain a commitment to excellence by adhering to a comprehensive range of testing standards, delivering accurate and reliable results. Operating with a small, agile team, they provide a personalised and responsive service, particularly in critical technical areas. Training can be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deputise in the absence of the Technical Manager, managing day-to-day operations, staff, and office duties.
- Have experience of working to ASTM or ISO standards.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic systems, identifying and resolving complex faults to ensure equipment performance and reliability.
- Diagnose electrical faults (e.g., switches, soldering) and perform basic repairs.
- Oversee and manage Quality Management Systems, including ISO 17025, ensuring all documentation is current and compliant.
- Conduct internal audits and support external audits from certification bodies such as UKAS.
Ideal Candidate:
- Technical proficiency in both hydraulic systems, with strong fault-finding experience, and electrical systems.
- Experience of auditing, internal or external.
