Immediate start
Test, commission, and troubleshoot electrical power systems across generation, transmission, and industrial sectors. The role combines office-based engineering with UK and international site commissioning, supporting complex electrical infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities- Design and commission protection and control systems across LV, MV, and HV networks.
- Commission generators, switchgear, excitation, synchronising, AVR, and protection systems.
- Working on generator control panels for turbines in the 5-50MW bracket, interfacing with DCS and other systems.
- Configure, test, and validate protection relays, metering, and control schemes.
- Perform functional testing and support system energisation activities.
- Produce commissioning reports, test documentation, and technical records.
- Investigate faults, troubleshoot operational issues, and carry out root cause analysis.
- Support protection coordination studies, fault level assessments, and system performance evaluations.
- Participate in design reviews, FATs, SATs, and client meetings.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, client specifications, and industry best practice.
- Experience in power system protection, control, and commissioning.
- Knowledge of generator control systems, protection relays, and HV/MV/LV networks.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong fault-finding, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally for commissioning projects.
A mix of office-based engineering and site-based commissioning, including occasional periods on industrial, utility, and high-security sites. Candidates must have RTW in the UK for this vacancy.
