We’re looking for an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to join a busy, multidisciplinary projects team delivering high-impact projects across the water and utilities sector. You’ll provide technical expertise, creating high-quality E&I designs that are accurate, efficient, and fully compliant with BS7671 (18th Edition) and client requirements. Your designs will help keep projects on track—on time, on budget, and to the highest standards. You’ll produce well-structured documentation, support construction activities, and work closely with subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery. Collaboration is key: you’ll be part of a team of Mechanical, Process, HVAC, and Civil engineers, ensuring electrical designs integrate seamlessly into complex projects.

What You’ll Bring

  • HNC or Degree in a technical engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience in electrical installation design within the water/utility sector.
  • Strong knowledge of BS7671 IEE Wiring Regulations and E&I design best practices.
  • Experience producing detailed design deliverables: 2D/3D layouts, containment routing, loop diagrams, cable calculations, and communication network diagrams.
  • CDM 2015 knowledge, including experience as a Designer.
  • Hazardous area design experience, including intrinsically safe calculations and inspection schedules.
  • Ability to conduct site surveys and provide on-site construction support.

  • AutoCAD LT, Relux/Dialux, Trimble (Amtech) Pro Design Suite
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Aveva, Navisworks, Revit
