The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Structural Draughtsperson to join a specialist engineering organisation delivering projects within the offshore oil and gas sector. This is an excellent opportunity for a contractor looking to work on technically challenging structural design projects within a highly regarded engineering environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in producing high-quality structural drawings and models using Autodesk Inventor, supporting engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.
This is an initial 6-month contract with strong potential for extension. The position operates outside IR35, making it suitable for Limited Company contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed structural fabrication and assembly drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
- Develop and maintain 3D models for offshore oil and gas structures and related equipment.
- Generate manufacturing drawings, GA drawings and detailed structural documentation.
- Work closely with structural engineers and project teams to ensure designs meet project requirements.
- Ensure drawings comply with relevant industry standards, specifications and client requirements.
- Support design reviews and incorporate engineering comments and design changes as required.
- Manage and maintain drawing records and documentation throughout project delivery.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a Structural Draughting or Structural Design role.
- Strong proficiency with Autodesk Inventor.
- Previous experience working within the offshore oil and gas, marine, energy, offshore renewables or heavy engineering sectors.
- Ability to interpret engineering calculations and technical specifications.
- Experience producing detailed fabrication and manufacturing drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
Contract Details
- Initial 6-month contract with potential for further extensions.
