We are currently seeking an experienced Civil Surveyor who is also capable of undertaking Setting Out Engineer duties on a major construction project in the Fleetwood area. This is an excellent opportunity to join a project at the pre-construction stage, offering a long-term contract with the potential for further extensions. The role has been assessed as Outside IR35, making it suitable for self-employed contractors. CIS payment arrangements can also be accommodated.

The Role: Working closely with both the design and site teams, you will initially support the project through its pre-construction phase before undertaking a dual role involving both civil surveying and setting out activities. This position requires a hands-on individual who is comfortable operating across both disciplines and can effectively coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure works are delivered accurately and efficiently.

  • Carry out civil surveying activities across the project
  • Undertake setting out duties for construction works
  • Liaise with design, engineering and site management teams
  • Verify dimensions and site data against project drawings
  • Produce and maintain accurate survey records
  • Support project planning and construction activities
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with project specifications and safety requirements

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Civil Surveyor
  • Previous Setting Out Engineer experience
  • Strong understanding of construction and civil engineering projects
  • Earthworks experience is essential
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Valid CSCS Card
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
