We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client's engineering team, delivering bespoke projects from concept through to manufacture.

You’ll be responsible for producing high-quality 3D models, engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Design for Manufacture (DfM) documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create 3D models using Autodesk Inventor.
  • Produce 2D engineering drawings to BS 8888 standards.
  • Develop fabrication, assembly and manufacturing documentation.
  • Conduct Designer Risk Assessments and support CDM compliance.
  • Work closely with analysis, production and project teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and fit for purpose.
  • Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO 9001 engineering procedures.
Requirements
  • HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
  • Experience in sheet metal design, steel fabrication, or industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Proficient in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Vault.
  • Knowledge of steel manufacturing processes, welding, engineering drawings, and Design for Manufacture (DfM) principles.
  • Understanding of load paths, failure modes, and structural design fundamentals.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Desirable
  • Knowledge of door performance testing standards.
  • Experience with iLogic, VB programming, or design automation.
  • Current SC Clearance or ability to obtain it.
